About me
Catrin was born and raised in Germany, where she also completed her education. She earned a Master’s degree in North American Studies and later a Ph.D. in Cultural Studies/American Literature from the University of Bonn. As a Fulbright Fellow, she spent time at Clark University in Worcester, and also served as a research fellow at the University of Wisconsin in Madison.
Catrin currently teaches at Nichols College in Dudley, MA as an adjunct professor, and works as a grants manager at Family Aid in Boston, where she helps advance the organization’s mission to prevent homelessness among underserved families in the city. Her academic interests include popular culture and American literature, and she takes an interdisciplinary approach that blends cultural theory, social sciences, and history.
She has taught courses on topics such as B Movies, Big Tech and Society, and Introduction to Gender and Diversity Studies.
